Friends and acquaintances from Carol’s past got in touch through the website to talk about her book. Lynette Reid who lived a few houses away on Quance Avenue in Saskatoon and was friends with daughters, Jill and Elaine, ordered a book and came to visit from Nova Scotia. Becky Martin, daughter of dear friend Shirley Martin of Saskatoon, contacted Carol by email from Santa Ana, California. Carol phoned Leslie Brown who was the adopted daughter of Helen Sisson, a dear friend and colleague in Winnipeg following her mother’s death. Leslie had read her mother’s copy of Carol’s book. Cathy Jane Crandell, aka Catherine Disbery, a beloved member of Grosvenor Park United Church Hi-C group in Saskatoon that Shipleys led in the late 1960s, emailed Carol and ordered a book. She lives in Kelowna, B.C., has two adopted sons, and her husband is an adoptee. It was a deep pleasure for Carol to hear about the lives of each of these wonderful women.
